NICE and nice events coming up

First off the bat is an exhibit in Stockholm of the NICE collection: Couture by Nordic designers with eco-friendly materials from C.L.A.S.S. Care to air
30. Jun 2010Levi Strauss & Co. is asking consumers to let all their good green laundry ideas hang out. Starting this month, green pioneers and inventors can submit original air-drying solutions as part of the company’s ―Care to Air contest, with the chance to win over 8,000 Euros in prizes. The company is looking for the next generation of air drying design ideas that will improve or replace the typical clothes-line. Design ideas will be accepted from June 1- July 31, 2010 and winners will be announced on August 16.

Tax-breaks for being NICE?
16. Jun 2010Different countries, different means of attack: In France they are about to make all apparel companies pay a flat fee which is ear-marked for waste-handling. But those taking eco-action, and ensure that customers return the items, will be exempt. In th UK, the British Fashion Council has suggested tax breaks for brands that champion an ethical attitude to fashion.
