Putting fabrics through the preparation process of scouring, bleaching, and neutralization before dyeing can create a fabric that is hairy and pilled even before it reaches the consumer.
After wearing and washing, clothes are often still prone to pilling and protruding fiber ends that make the fabric look fuzzy and worn. The chances of this happening can be significantly reduced if textiles are bioblasted during production before they are designed into a piece of clothing and sold to the consumer.

Bioblast ensures that textiles are made to last; you get high-quality fabrics with longer durability and robustness. Because the process blasts away short surface fibers that create fuzz, bioblasted clothes surround the wearer with softness, smoothness, and drapability, as well as keeping colors radiant for much longer than non-bioblasted fabrics.
Novozymes offers combined solutions for bioblasting in the same process as the dyeing bath. The Cellusoft® catalase enzyme works at a wide temperature and pH range, making it easy to apply to the dyeing process. This sustainable alternative allows for cutting process time and creating greater output.
