Sewing thread
Coats has launched an environmentally friendly sewing thread called EcoVerde.The new polyester thread range is made from recycled plastic bottles (PET) and has been designed to meet stringent Oeko.Tex (koble til Oeko-Tex) standards. It is available in a range of counts, sizes and colours and is designed for use primarily in apparel. The German thread maker Amann, which has taken over UK-based Oxley threads, will be launching a series of embroidery and sewing threads made from recycled pokyester and organic cotton under the Amann Lifecycle Threads brand. Amann is currently involved in several energy- and water-saving endeavours aimed to boost the ecological profile of the company’s production processes, along with concentration on physiologically harmless dyestuffs in accordance with Öko-Tex Standard 100.

Eco-friendly labels
Avery Dennison has introduced a new line of 100% eco-friendly, woven labels at the same price level as standard woven labels. They come in several recycled polyester blends, as various blended organic cotton and recycled polyester blends, and claim to be both wash resistant and durable.
